History of Media

Project Details

  • Choose an outdated piece of technology (There are more items in my office)

  • Research the history of the item. Try to answer as much of the following as possible:

Where, when, how, and why it was invented (don’t forget who invented it!)

What was the cost and the main usage for this item?

How has this item evolved over time and what is the current technology that has replaced it?

How might this technology change in the future?

  • Create a video presentation that is fun and informative! Here are some video ideas:

Skits with actors, props and costumes

Cartoon animations or stop motion animations (think legos or post-its!)

    Touchcast videos (ask me how!)

Slideshows with  timelines or timelapses narration, music or other graphics

Educreations type videos (like a tutorial)

  • A museum card will be created with information on the item from your research and then your video will be able to be viewed using an augmented reality app called Aurasma.

  • See me for examples of video ideas and/or how Aurasma is used
